Paintings 2

Beautiful still life with a vase of flowers and parrot.  It is very colorful and well done.  Ihave had a similar painting by a Buffalo, NY. artist.  The frame is in good condition and probably original.  Late 19th or early 20th century.  Overall: 31" X 24".  Sight: 24 1/2" X  17 1/2".

Nude study by George Da Maduro Peixotto (1862-1937).  Oil on canvas.  George Peixotto worked in Cleveland, Ohio, and New York city, and studied in Europe.  He also exhibited at the Royal Academy of Arts, England.  He is known for landscapes and portraits, as well as scupture.  The frame is by association.  Overall: 25 1/5" X 22".  Sight: 18" X 15".

Landscape of a farm and surrounding hills by Ernest Fredericks (1877-1959).  Fredericks painted mostly in Illinois and Arkansas and came to Eureka Springs, Ark. from Chicago. He is buried in Eureka Springs.  He was a prolific painter and his colors are quite striking.  Overall: 26" X 29 3/4".  Sight: 20" X 23 3/4".

Nice little watercolor depicting one the emblems of the American Brotherhood of Marine Engineers.  This is now the American Maritime Officers union.  This watercolor is still very bright but there is a little water stain on the bottom.  There is a little piece of glass missing in the upper left corner.  Overall 11" X 9".  Sight: 9 3/4" X 7 3/4".
